Through a collection of testimonies from European intellectuals, politicians, and educators from Germany, Spain, France, England, Italy, and others, we can decide how we should act.
In our time (2020 and beyond), war has once again emerged as the preferred method for resolving conflicts between peoples, cultures, hegemonies, etc., causing deaths (in catastrophic numbers) and destruction (equally numerous), exoduses and resistance (just think of Ukraine), while a united Europe has forcefully reaffirmed its vocation to peace.
Why did this happen there?
Through what metamorphosis of people’s consciousness?
And through what widespread practices and theories?
Thus, Europe is now becoming both the model and the goal of international politics and culture, capable of resolving conflicts through diplomacy and eliminating all armed means. Therefore, it is precisely from here that a Global Appeal for Peace and the Means to Achieve It must arise. And if these goals have been achieved in Europe, why, with those Educational, Training, Cultural, Political, and Social means, even if well presented and widespread (among religions converted and all to peace; secular faiths nourished by the human sciences that allow for the reorientation of sapiens, changing both its impulses and the very individual conscience), cannot truly achieve (in the long run and with constant commitment) that type of life Kant called “Perpetual Peace” for which we now have both the knowledge and operational practices? And a United Europe is here both a stimulus and a practice!! And a guide as well!!
