Firenze University Press (FUP) is pleased to announce its membership in the European Diamond Capacity Hub (EDCH), an OPERAS-led programme that builds on the outcomes of DIAMAS and CRAFT-OA to strengthen and sustain the Diamond Open Access (DOA) ecosystem in Europe.
The DOA Publishing Model is characterized by the absence of publication fees for both authors and readers, while ensuring that content governance remains under the direct oversight of scholarly communities. EDCH aims to align with international standards for Open Access journals and enhances the visibility of FUP publications through indexing in major global databases, such as the Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ). By removing financial barriers and promoting community-led governance, this project reinforces knowledge as a shared public good. It fosters inclusivity, equity, and long-term sustainability in scholarly communication, in full alignment with our commitment to Open Science. Read the full update on our social media channels:
FUP has also decided to complete the DOAS self-assessment questionnaire in order to analyse our level of compliance with the DOAS or Sustainability parameters. This initiative gives us the opportunity to identify and consolidate our strengths, while identifying and strengthening our development areas.
